Strengthening the National Innovation System
in Mozambique
Enhancing national capacity to coordinate, finance, and sustain innovation for resilient growth.
The CTCN Technical Assistance (TA) program in Mozambique supports the Government’s effort to strengthen its National Innovation System (NIS) as a foundation for low-carbon and climate-resilient economic growth. Through this initiative, Orizon Consulting is assisting the National Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation (DNCTI) under the Ministry of Education and Culture in developing a National Innovation System Framework and Implementation Roadmap, alongside policy advice for revitalizing institutional innovation support mechanisms—including the Maluana Science and Technology Park, university innovation centres, and financing mechanisms for innovation support. Together, these actions reinforce linkages between government, academia, and the private sector to advance innovation-led, climate-resilient development.
